Foto Phriday - 10/5/12

This is my eighty-third Foto Phriday post. The pictures today are from the Microsoft campus and Juliana's birthday. Full set with all 23 photos can be viewed here.

Not too many pictures this time since I have been incredibly busy at work. In the last three month, we've integrated four new huge systems to our network, gearing up for a major project. I have also been taking some training classes for some of these systems.

I've been wanting to go on a photowalk around the whole Microsoft campus, but have never had the time. I had about an hour of sunlight two Saturdays ago, so I wandered around really quick. My 50mm lens is not ideal for building or landscape shots, so I didn't take many shots.

The Redmond Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) facility is near where I work. I've been over there for lunch a couple times. I don't have a membership there because I don't want to pay for it, but when they find out that I am a veteran, they are more than happy to let me in for lunch. Just can't have any alcohol, which I've heard is cheap at VFWs.

Microsoft is investing a bunch of money into building measured out running trails around campus. I go running around here often, but have always stuck to just the State Route 520 trail. No idea how far I've been running, so this will be a good way to track my distance.

I know I've posted pictures of the Nintendo building on here before, but I wanted to take some shots with my 5D. Still need to get a friend of mine to give me a tour.

Juliana's birthday was on Tuesday. She is 5 years old now. I can't believe it. She's such a big girl now. She chose to eat dinner at Red Robin on her birthday. My parents got her a new ski jacket for this winter. Really looking forward to hitting the slopes with her again this year. I bet she's going to improve even more.

One of our presents was Merida's dress from the Disney/Pixar movie Brave. She loved the movie and the character of Merida, especially since she also has crazy, curly long hair. We also bought her a toy suction cup bow and arrow to complete the costume. She'll wear it for her Brave-themed birthday party on Saturday, as well as for Halloween.

Coral is doing good. Laughing more, but still no giggle fests. She loves to explore and touch things like the remote control or my food when I'm eating dinner.

Luna! Been awhile since I've taken a picture of her. She has been handling the lack of attention due to new baby great. After Coral goes to sleep, I get lots of cuddle time with Luna as she's very affectionate then. We let Coral pet Luna sometimes, which just means that Coral grabs pieces of her fur and ears and pulls them as hard as she can. Luna is so mild tempered that she just lets it happen. She'll even purr sometimes. What a good kitty.

Coral is still loving the discovery of solid foods. She's tried so many different things now that I've lost track. To see more pictures of her eating, Juliana's birthday, and the Microsoft campus, please view the full set.
